This list has been designed for new Landlords moving out of their property.
56 Days prior to leaving

Contact Redbrick to ensure a smooth transition.
42 Days prior to leaving

Inform your Mortgage Company, to provide a letting Consent form.

Decide what furniture you are putting in/leaving.

Make sure upholstery is displaying fire proof labels.

Contact the relevant manufactures if there any missing instruction manuals.

Recommend to contact an approved electrician about installing a hard wired fire detection system incorporating an audible alarm.
21 days prior to leaving

Contact Redbrick or a CORGI registered plumber to obtain a certificate of safety if property older then twelve months old.

Contact Redbrick or an IEE electrician to obtain a certificate of safety valid for up to five years (check to see if a certificate is in place, first). Also to carry out a separate Portable Appliance Test.
14 days prior to leaving

Trim & tidy the garden.

Make arrangements to re-direct mail – Royal Mail Tel: 08457 740740. (N.B. Royal Mail require 14 days notice)

Contact Redbrick Properties regarding Gas Service Contract. The contract includes servicing the boiler and any parts and labour during the contract for a reasonable one-off annual charge.
7 days prior to leaving

Inform your Insurance Company to change to Landlords Buildings & Contents policy.

Recommend to fit your kitchen with a fire blanket to British Standard (BS) 6575.

Recommend to fit your kitchen with a 2K dry powder or carbon dioxide fire extinguisher to BS 5306 (part 3) and BS 5423.

Organize a professional cleaner for day of leaving.

Type up an inventory/conditional report.

Clear all refuse.

Check all bulbs are working.
