I moved to Leeds in the middle of lockdown, having grown up in a small countryside town in Lincolnshire. Wanting a fresh start, I used university as a stepping stone to set myself up in the city. However, academics were never my strong suit, and I soon realized I preferred gaining real-world experience over studying.
My journey in Leeds began on Greek Street, working as a bartender in one of the busiest bars in the city. This role gave me the confidence and communication skills to handle all kinds of situations, which led me to a position within the council, arranging boiler servicing and repairs for tenants. Here, I developed a strong ability to handle maintenance issues efficiently and navigate challenging tenant interactions. However, with limited progression opportunities in the role, I started thinking about how I could apply these skills to a long-term career.
That’s when I found property management—the perfect fit for my skill set. My ability to coordinate maintenance, identify issues, and build strong relationships made the transition seamless. Since then, I’ve developed a real passion for the industry, finding satisfaction in ensuring landlords get the best value while keeping tenants happy. I also take pride in working closely with contractors to strike the right balance between cost-effectiveness and quality service.
Outside of work, you’ll find me following Arsenal through the highs and lows, staying active with long Sunday runs or hitting the gym after work. I’m also deeply involved in the music scene, with close friends running their own events company, and I have a strong passion for house music.
