If your tenancy ends on the 30th June 2019 you will find the following information and tips really helpful to ensure an easy, stress-free transition.
Clean, Clean, Clean...
It's really important that you clean your property to a good standard when you vacate (especially the oven!). We will be comparing the condition of the house when you moved in (from your signed Check-In) with the condition you leave it in. A very handy cleaning check-list has been uploaded to the Files section of your log-in on our website. Please take a few minutes to read this thoroughly.
Also, please ensure you remove all rubbish from the house and put it in the correct outside bins. If you have any surplus rubbish this must not be put in bin-liners and left by the bins but rather taken to Meanwood Road household recycling centre. Unfortunately, you will incur a charge if excess rubbish needs to be removed.
The Top 3 deposit deductions from last year were cleaning, stained mattresses, and broken/missing light-bulbs. As part of your cleaning routine please ensure you replace any broken/missing bulbs as well as smoke alarm batteries.
Keys
All key must be returned to our office by 11am on the 30th June 2019. This gives us enough time to check your property and have it ready for the next set of tenants moving in the following day.
We really do not want to change the locks but we will have no option but to do this should all the keys not be back in our possession by this time. This is a very costly procedure for you and can be avoided with a little planning.
If you are currently missing any keys we would advise sorting this out with us now rather than on the last day of your tenancy.
Deposit Returns
Before we can begin processing your deposit return we will need confirmation that you have paid your utility bills. If you are on a bills included package this will not apply to you, although if you are not students we will also need confirmation that you have paid your Council Tax. For those of you that are students we will need your Council Tax Exemption Certificates. If you have not already done so you can apply for these on the Leeds City Council Website.
Once your tenancy has ended and we have this confirmation you can request the return of your deposit via your message board on our website. There is a really great article here on how to get your full deposit back.
Thank-you!
We hope you find this information useful, but please do not hesitate to contact us should you require any further help. We'd also like to say a huge Thank-you from all the team at Redbrick Properties.
